COMPANY HISTORY


From the meager beginning in 1983 operating of a garage and serving only the Coal Mine Industry, Garrett Mine Supply has expanded significantly. We now have over 1,200 employee and 3 operating divisions with facilities and operations throughout the United States and North America.



Garrett Industrial Supply — Garrett Industrial Supply is a regional industrial supply distributor. After starting out sharpening coal mine bits we expanded our product offering within the coal mines and to other industries by listening to our customers, understanding their needs and providing excellent solutions at competitive prices.

To better serve our growing customer base we moved from the garage to our current Oakland location in 1986. We opened our Morgantown facility in 1997 and moved to our existing location in 2007. We opened our Jane Lew facility in 2013 and are planning a new facility in Central Pennsylvania.

We sell a huge selection of industrial supplies to a wide range of industries, but what we are best known for is the personal attention we give to our customers, a quality product offering and reliable safe delivery.


Garrett Mine Repair and Maintenance

Garrett Mine Repair and Maintenance was created in 1995 to provide labor and contracting services to coal mining industry. Since its inception it has become the North American leader in underground and surface mine contracting, focusing but not limited to underground maintenance and contracting. GMSMRM has earned this reputation by upholding a Commitment to Safety throughout the company. It is GMSMRM's policy and strong belief that Safety comes above everything else, and this commitment to safety is the number one responsibility of each and every employee. GMSMRM has become an industry leader by focusing on the following three principles in sequential order.

  • Safety — Send all employees home to their families safely everyday.
  • Quality — Perform the highest quality job in the safest manner possible.
  • Efficiency — Complete the job as efficient as possible in a safest manner possible.
These three key principles have allowed GMSMRM to grow to the industry leader it is today with over 900 employees working at sites across the United States.The corporate offices for GMSMRM are located in Oakland, MD with regional offices strategically placed throughout the country. Regional offices include: GMS North in Waynesburg, PA; GMS South in Daniels, West Virginia; GMS Midwest Madisonville, KY; GMS West in Craig, CO; Additionally GMSMRM utilizes three fabrication and support facilities that are located in the following areas, respectively: Oakland, MD, Burgettstown, PA and Madisonville, KY. Pioneer Conveyor became a part or the Garrett Mine family through an acquisition in 2000 and have become a leading bulk material conveyor manufacturing firm serving customers throughout North America. Pioneer has designed and manufactured thousands of standard and custom conveyor systems for a multitude of applications. Pioneer Conveyor, a certified CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association) member, manufacturing CEMA B,C,D, and E conveyor products in standard and custom belt widths.

Pioneer has complete engineering, machining, fabrication and manufacturing departments on-site to design and manufacture your next conveyor project. All Pioneer Conveyor products are designed and manufactured significantly above CEMA specification requirements. This allows Pioneer to offer our customers the most attractive warranty in the industry.

Pioneer utilizes cutting edge design and manufacturing technology to ensure that their customers receive the highest quality components. This includes 3-D CAD Inventor design, Custom Loaded Belt Simulation testing conveyor system to test all new and existing components, and a detailed driven quality system with in process quality inspections conducted at every phase of the manufacturing process to ensure that customers receive the highest quality product every time they place an order with Pioneer!
